Artist bio
Varazdat Barsegian was born on 31st of January 1992 in a village of the Arevshat, Shirak region. He started drawing at the age of 4, using the walls of the house as his canvas.
In 1999, he was admitted to the Arevshat Village Middle School, then in the 5th grade, he began studying in the Artik city’s children’s art school and finished it with exceptional results. In the same year, he was admitted to the Panos Terlemezian’s art school in Yerevan.
From 2010 till 2012 Varazdat went to serve in the Armenian military, after which he continued his studies. After his mother’s passing, he decided to quit school.
Since his very childhood, he could not tolerate injustice and was always an exemplary student. He pays a lot of attention to folk music, loves poems, is engaged in sculpting, makes furniture, and is always trying to discover something new and become better at his craft.
Varazdat is a very artistic and creative person. In 2016, he, together with his wife Sose, started crafting jewelry from different types of metallic wires. He has an innate patriotism in him. He loves his motherland, his people, and his history.
In the year 2020, Varazdat has volunteered to go to the Artsakh war and protect his homeland in the front lines.
